Why this Halloween will be ultra spooky

Its that time of the year again, where we all celebrate the paranormal. This halloween will be ultra-spooky not just because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic but also the supernatural alignment this year.

It's on a Saturday

Remember when you were little and halloween had to be called short at 8pm to allow you to sleep and go to school tomorrow? Or when you have to go to bed early to catch the train into work tomorrow? Well not this year. This years halloween happens on a Saturday, which means you can stay up as late as you want because the next day is Sunday. This is the first time since 2015, so not too amazing.

It's a Blue Moon

This halloween will host the second full moon of October, also known as a blue moon.

Blue moons are pretty rare enough (hence the phrase "Once in a blue moon"), but this is one is exceptional because it will be visible worldwide (if weather permits). It will be the first blue moon on halloween, able to be seen worldwide, since 1944. That's 76 years. The next halloween blue moon visible in the UK may be before the return of halley's comet in 2061, so be sure to watch out for it.

An Asteroid

This halloween, Asteroid 2015 TB145 will make a fly-by earth. Despite what social media rumours say, it will not hit earth.

The interesting thing is that this asteroid is shaped like a skull. It is dubbed 'spooky' or 'the great pumpkin'
